SIGHT UNSEEN Walter Gallery/San Francisco Art Institute January 10 - February 4, 2002 A
diverse curatorial team from the Art
Institute's Artists Committee presents Sight Unseen, a group
exhibition of work that addresses absence and dislocation with a
poignant presence. Framing mundane practices and
impoverished materials for poetic or critical consideration, the
artists redirect our attention to the conditions of presence and the
possibilities for something else. Artists include: VICTOR
CARTAGENA, MICHAEL DAMM, OLIVER DICICCO, LARNIE REID FOX, LEONIE
GUYER, ANDREA HIGGINS, PAMELA KESSLER, MARY V. KING, KAREN LAUDON,
ANISSA MACK, J. JOHN PRIOLA, MARIA TERESA RODE, AND YOSHITOMO SAITO;
and was curated by FRANCESCA PASTINE, DAN SPENCER, NINA WISNIEWSKI, and
VICTOR ZABALLA.
