DNS (Domain Name Service)

Using External DNS servers as a backup to Rexx
You can use the DNS servers of another ISP or DNS service as a backup
to the Rexx servers. In this mode of operation, Rexx will serve as the "Master"
DNS server and will notify it's Backup/Slave servers when you make changes to
your DNS domains.

In the DNS screen, click SETUP for the domain you wish to setup.
The SERVICE TYPE should be set to "Master"
In the section ALLOW TRANSFERS FROM you will need to enter the IP
addresses of the external servers. You can enter multiple external slave
servers by seperating the IP addresses with [;] semi-colons.

You will most likely need to tell the external servers that our server
on IP address 174.136.104.254 is the Master.

Using Rexx DNS servers as backup to an External Master
Our servers are also able to act as a backup for BIND compatable external
DNS servers. (Most DNS servers support the BIND format.)

In the DNS screen, click SETUP for the domain you wish to setup.
The SERVICE TYPE should be set to "Slave"
In the MASTER SERVER IP, enter the IP address of the external
server that will be the Master. Our server will accept change notices
from that IP address only, and will contact that IP address when requesting
updates.

Note that when you try to edit a domain that is in SLAVE mode, our system
will display the data it got from the Master Server. You must edit the
data at the Master server.
